The British company NFT Investments announced the loss of $250,000 in assets. The company said that its specialists recorded a “fraudulent phishing attack from an unknown external source.”
In order to counter intruders, the company implemented an “emergency incident response” plan. An independent company has been entrusted with investigating the details of the cyber attack. Details of the incident were not disclosed.
“The company will immediately inform the market if there are any changes in the investigation of the situation that need to be notified,” NFT Investments said in an official statement.
According to interim unaudited results, NFT Investment’s total net assets are about $37 million. According to the preliminary disclosure of information about the incident, the company suffered damage in the amount of “less than 1%” of the current net assets value.
At the end of December last year, blockchain security firm SlowMist published a report according to which the North Korean hacker group Lazarus targeted the wallets of investors investing in non-fungible tokens (NFTs). To this end, the attackers created over 500 phishing addresses to steal digital assets.
