The Robinhood trading platform announced the imminent launch of the beta version of its own cryptocurrency wallet – users will be able to start testing as early as January 2022.
An article in the company’s blog reports that tens of thousands of users are now on the “waiting list” for testing a cryptocurrency wallet. Already in the middle of next month, they will have access to the beta version of the application. In total, the new function is expected by about 1.6 million users.
According to Robinhood COO Christine Brown, security will be a priority when testing cryptocurrency wallet functions. Also, the application will educate users and provide complete information about the network and transaction fees.
“Many say 2021 was the year of universal adoption of cryptocurrencies. But in fact, most ordinary people are just starting to get comfortable in this space, they are interested in blockchain. With the launch of our own wallet, we hope to play a significant role in attracting a large number of new investors to the cryptocurrency industry, ”the article says.
Recall that the development of a cryptocurrency wallet by Robinhood became known in September this year. The first transaction using the alpha version of the application was made on November 22. Interestingly, the DOGE “coin-meme” was used for the test transaction.
