The Wharton School of Business of the Ivy League at the University of Pennsylvania has announced that its Aresty Institute for Executive Education will launch a “Business in the Metaverse Economy” certification program.
The six-week course will be taught online. The school has partnered with consulting firm Prysm Group to develop a curriculum that will include more than 50 lectures from educators and industry representatives, as well as six case studies.
Guest speakers will include Animoca Brands, Adobe, RLY Network, R/GA, Second Life, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and other major organizations.
“The Metaverse is a significant and widespread phenomenon that is still poorly understood. We hope to equip business leaders, consultants, and entrepreneurs with an understanding of the looming opportunities that the metaverse opens up,” said Program Academic Director Professor Kevin Werbach.
The first enrollment of students will begin on September 12, and they are expected to spend 8-10 hours per week studying at the cost of the entire course of $4,500. Digital Assets, which also lasted six weeks and cost $4,500.
The university predicts that by 2030 the metaverse will be a $13 trillion market with 5 billion users. The Wharton School will be the first Ivy League school to offer a Metaverse course.
Earlier, Todai University of Tokyo announced the launch of an educational project that should solve the problem of the lack of qualified personnel to work on digital technologies.
