The mining company Core Scientific (CORZ), in order to demonstrate the transparency of reporting, launched a functionality on its website that displays the daily production of bitcoins.
CORZ said the innovation is being introduced primarily for the attention of investors and regulators. The data will be updated every day at 12:00 ET (19:00 Moscow time) on the home page of the mining company (top left).
CORZ CEO Mike Levitt said the data is “one of the most important performance metrics in our industry.” Core Scientific co-founder Darin Feinstein said her firm is the first public mining company to report daily bitcoin mining.
According to information on the official website of the company, yesterday the miner mined more than 36 bitcoins worth about $1.5 million.
Mining companies listed on the stock exchange traditionally report monthly data, including the average daily number of mined bitcoins, hashrate and volumes of cryptocurrency stored in reserve. Core Scientific has not said it plans to release any other daily numbers other than production figures for cryptocurrency mining.
Automotive giant Tesla’s blockchain technology subsidiary Blockstream and Jack Dorsey’s Block (SQ) plan to provide much more information about their cryptocurrency mining operations. We are talking about creating a mining farm based on solar panels and Tesla batteries in the US state of Texas. The partners said that the farm equipment will be able to collect real-time data, including energy consumption, hashrate and broadcast to the mining company’s website.
