Observers noticed the movement of a large amount of bitcoins mined in 2010, and some representatives of the crypto-currency community even believed that Satoshi Nakamoto himself moved the coins.
Analyst, cryptocurrency developer and trader Kirill Kretow clarified: the bitcoins moved this time were mined just a year after the launch of the first cryptocurrency. We are talking about 1,005 BTC, which have lain without movement for almost 13 years.
Now the value of the transferred coins is just over $29 million. At the time of extraction and transfer to a dormant wallet in 2010, the total value of the coins did not exceed $328. Given the period of inactivity of the wallet, some overly impressionable commentators on Twitter even suggested that the creator of the blockchain of the first cryptocurrency himself moved the bitcoins.
However, Kretov doubts this. According to the analyst, most likely we are talking about a long-term investor or company, since the handwriting looks like the owner of 13 dormant wallets, the funds of which were withdrawn from 2020 to 2021. It was freshly mined (so-called virgin) coins that were stored on those wallets, while usually on other previously dormant addresses, bitcoins had already changed hands several times.
In February, it was reported about the withdrawal of 412 BTC, lying dormant for over ten years.
