British trading network The Fragrance Shop, in cooperation with the crypto payment operator BitPay, will accept BTC, ETH, BCH and DOGE for payment.
Fragrance CEO Sanjay Vadera said that customers of the online beauty retailer will be able to pay with cryptocurrencies for cosmetics of famous brands such as Chanel, Dior and Tom Ford. In addition to paying by credit or debit card and purchasing goods in installments (Buy Now, Pay Later service), the e-commerce giant now supports payments in Bitcoin, Ether, BCH and DOGE. Vadera claims that he has been following the development of the cliptocurrency market for several years and believes that now is the right time to introduce alternative payment methods.
Merrick Theobald, vice president of marketing for BitPay, is confident that the bold move of the trading network “realizes the potential of cryptocurrencies in the perfume and cosmetics industry.” Payments in cryptocurrencies can be much faster, cheaper and safer, and are made on a global scale. BitPay is excited to partner with The Fragrance Shop to increase the adoption of digital currencies and make the process as easy as possible. Theobald stated that cryptocurrencies are the future of payments.
A few years ago, the British cosmetics company Lush began accepting bitcoin, as there are not too high banking fees for payments in bitcoin. Recently, the Canadian cosmetic brand MAC Cosmetics became interested in crypto assets. Together with ConsenSys, he is preparing to issue non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
