Following the creation of a blockchain team, Google is forming a Web3 development team to provide companies with the tools to interact with new technologies.
According to CNBC, Google Cloud VP Amit Zavery sent a letter to his team declaring his intention to make Google Cloud Platform the best choice for Web3 developers. Google Cloud is a set of various cloud services that are associated with all the company’s projects. Although the Web3 market is still in its infancy, Zaveri says it’s already showing great potential, and “many” of the company’s clients are asking them to strengthen support for digital assets and Web3.
The team will focus exclusively on Web3 development, just like another team formed at the beginning of the year to develop blockchain and other related technologies. Zaveri said that in the future, Google may create a system that makes it easier to access blockchain data, as well as an easier way to create and run nodes for transactions.
The presence of a technology giant like Google in the crypto industry is doubtful, since the very essence of Web3 and digital currencies is precisely to get rid of the influence of corporations on the ways and freedom of interaction on the Internet. However, Zaveri stated that the company is not trying to become part of the cryptocurrency wave, but only wants to provide other companies with technologies to use and benefit from the decentralized nature of Web3 in their business.
Earlier, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt said that the Web3 industry has great potential and called it the most interesting area in new technologies.
