Payment operator MoneyGram, a world leader in the development of digital P2P payments, has partnered with the Coinme exchange to add cryptocurrency trading tools to its mobile application.
MoneyGram has announced the launch of a new service that allows consumers to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrencies through a mobile app. The new functionality will allow MoneyGram customers to transact in bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH) and litecoin (LTC).
The technical ability to buy, sell and store cryptocurrencies using the MoneyGram app came about through a partnership with the Coinme exchange, which provides technology that allows financial systems, crypto ATM operators and exchange kiosks to convert cryptocurrencies into cash.
The partnership participants began to implement the first joint projects in 2021, and in January the payment operator MoneyGram became a minority shareholder of Coinme. MoneyGram said it plans to expand the list of tradable crypto assets where government regulation allows.
In July, the MoneyGram team announced the implementation of a joint project with the Stellar Development Foundation, which will allow you to cash out or buy digital assets at MoneyGram branches at any time.
