Opera Software has announced that it plans to integrate Elrond’s blockchain services into its Opera Crypto Browser.
The integration will allow 300 million Web3 browser users to directly access a set of decentralized applications (dApps) and other services through a wallet built into the browser.
Elrond (EGLD) is a scalable blockchain network focused on dApps services, enterprise infrastructure, and the new internet economy. The developers call Elrond one of the fastest ecosystems currently.
Opera users will have access to Elrond’s standard digital token and native token issuance standard. They will also be able to use the built-in wallet, which should ensure smooth transactions and security.
Opera senior product manager Danny Yao stated that the company is trying to actively implement new blockchains in order to create a wide network of platforms:
“We are trying to make the browser a convenient starting point for entering Web3 for everyone who is interested in cryptocurrencies. Therefore, we have added a selection feature that allows our users to choose which wallet they use to interact with specific applications.”
The senior manager said the browser has a secure clipboard that protects users when they copy and paste sensitive data such as wallet addresses or bank account numbers.
Previously, Opera Software integrated MetaMask into its browser. The company said that the addition of the wallet occurred in anticipation of the transition of the Ethereum network to a new algorithm of work.
