An anonymous crypto holder lost his savings after he went to the Celer Bridge phishing page, which ended up right in the Google search results. Analysts from Scam Sniffer write about this.
Scam victim transferred $900,000 in Ether to a fake address. Immediately after, the scammers managed to launder money through the KuCoin crypto exchange using various tokens and networks. Scam Sniffer writes that this is not the first time that malicious links have popped up on Google. Previously, the service blocked the official websites of Celer Network and cBridge, which created confusion.
“Beware of phishing in Google search ads! The situation has not improved since we reported this a few months ago,” the company said.
Scam Sniffer called on Google to take steps to improve the security of its advertising services. Earlier, Solidus Labs stated that from mid-July to August, more than 500 fraudulent meme coins were launched on the Base network from the Coinbase crypto exchange.
And the DEXTools service said that dozens of fake PayPal USD are already spawning on several blockchains at once.
