A US federal court has imposed further restrictions on Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, saying he must surrender all his passports and notify law enforcement of his movements.
This means that Changpeng Zhao will not be able to leave the United States. The court order to surrender the passports demonstrates the serious intention of law enforcement agencies to bring the case against the Binance founder to a real prison sentence.
To recap, Zhao pleaded guilty last November to violating the Bank Secrecy Act by failing to register Binance as a money services company and failing to establish an effective anti-money laundering program. The verdict for the founder of the Binance exchange is expected to be handed down on April 30.
